Every pack has its own differrent way of life. Although this pack's lifestyle might seem harsh in some ways, it keeps the pack in peace and balance. Read thoroughly so you know each lifestyle Ordain has.paladins.
Paladins, although uppermost in the middle class, are not treated individually. They usually work as groups; rarely is there much hierarchy among paladins. Only a few paladins are chosen as special bodyguards for the Chieftain.
In battle, all paladins are required to fight as ordered. If a paladin cowers from his or her duties or disobeys, their punishment will be severe. Some of the senior paladins will occasionally be sent on missions by the Upper Class.
Paladins are required to hunt at least two pieces of prey on a daily basis. Every dawn, afternoon, and night, patrols of paladins are sent to hunt. The paladins are allowed to eat any extra prey they have caught, but two pieces must be donated to the minors, ancients, Nursing Den, and Upper Class.
upper class.
The Upper Class, though loathed by many of the lower, are highly respected. Very few wolves make up this class; most of them are either royalty or are very rich. The Upper Class gets whatever prey is left from the paladin hunting patrols that hasn't been given to the Nursing Den.
The Upper Class is made up of the leaders of the pack, Nobles, Slayers, bearers, and the Parliament. The Parliament is a group of wolves that are in charge of all things town-related - a Chieftain has no right to intrude on the Parliament's decisions unless it relates to them. The Parliament is made mostly of older wolves, although there are a few younger wolves in the group to add difference of opinion. Upper Class wolves mainly make up this group, although there may be a few middle class wolves in it. The Parliament is in charge of passing laws, dens, hierarchy, pack events, etc.
Then there is the Chieftain. The Chieftain is in charge of everything, except they are not to toil with town-related business. They command wolves and is known as the pack's leader. Though some Chieftains have been resented by the pack they were chosen to be in charge of, many Chieftains are admired by those of the lower classes, despite their heritage. Strangely, Chieftains are usually only picked from the Vale pack, not from their pack itself. It seems as if Vale itself does not trust wolves from the other packs, though no one knows why.
Like a shadow, a shaman follows the Chieftain. Shamans work as healers for the pack - however, unless they are paid a great amount of gold, they are only to heal Upper Class wolves. A shaman also works as an adviser for the Chieftain. Most shamans are wise and trustworthy (although they are picked from their original pack, not from Vale); their words are treasured by the Chieftains.
Then there's the nobles. Most nobles are acknowledged individually for their power or money - those who are related to higher-ranked Upper Class wolves are treated with more respect than others. All nobles must be respected by all the wolves of a pack.
minors/ancients.
Minors and ancients are rarely respected, unless they were recently of the Upper Class or are famous among their town. However, because minors are raising the future of the pack, they are always fed before the ancients and Upper Class. Ancients are the least respected of the middle class. Because they are old and decrepit, they are sometimes given their food last.
When a female has given birth to her litter of pup(s), she is given only one month to stay in the Nursing Den and be fed by the wolves who work there. After her month is up, she and her pups will be kicked out, whether they have a home or not. A town cannot afford to waste money and food on anyone forever.
Meanwhile, there are pups. Once a pup leaves the Nursing Den and is at least four months of age, a parent can enroll a pup into training for 40 gold to be a paladin. Training is not strict - a pup will train once a week for two months. When he/she reached six months of age, he/she will become a paladin. Of course, some pups do not choose to do training at a young age either because they want another job in the future or did not have enough money at the time; if this happens, a wolf can still enroll in training whenever they wish. To be a paladin, a wolf must undergo a full training period.
jobs.
To earn money, a wolf must get a job. Unless they have a large quantity of money handed down to them from someone's will, you either make the money or lose your home. There are many types of jobs available in the town that can earn you a fair share of money.
please note * A wolf must visit the Parliament first in order to receive a job (also meaning you must get admin permission as well).
Nursing Den assistant - A wolf with great patience and kindness can become a Nursing Den assistant. This is an average job, mostly taken up by females. gold earned: 30 gold for each day of work
Paladin - To become a paladin is a basic job most males take up. Although it can be risky, it's fairly easy and it keeps a wolf strong and well-fed. gold earned: 20 gold for each day of work; +5 if working as a bodyguard for Upper Class
Merchant - Merchants can either choose to remain in one place or come and go as they please. Although it is a lower class job, it can get you good earnings and fame. gold earned: Whatever amount you sell
Blacksmith - Blacksmiths are experts in precision, experimentation, and fire. They have their own forges in which they create anything from weapons to vases. Weapons include knives, battle claws, tail-tip barbs, poisoned steel, etc. They use their claws and fangs to hammer things together. gold earned: Whatever amount you sell
Bearer - Bearers work as message-carriers for their town. An Ordain bearer is put at great risk, for they may easily be intercepted by bandits or cruel wolves from Aenea.
Fisher - Fishers do their jobs by the sea. They use specially woven nets (or their fangs) to catch fish and crabs. These delicacies, especially crabs or rare fish, are put up for trade for Upper Class wolves or families who want to have a special dinner. gold earned: Whatever amount you sell
Parliament - Parliament wolves are hard to make. A wolf must have good reputation and a considerable amount of gold and wisdom to become a part of this group. The paycheck is good, though. gold earned: 50 gold for every Thursday-Sunday
Healer - Healers work to cure ailments or wounds of lower class wolves. They are useful, and, although not as good as a Shaman, they can heal most sicknesses. They are often called upon in battles to treat the wounded paladins. gold earned: However much they are paid for services
Composers - A job as a composer is often chosen as a side job, for it is not often required. Composers write songs, poems, or even speeches. They sell their work to others or make speeches for other wolves to announce. gold earned However much they are paid for their services
Got more job suggestions? Post it in the Parliament thread any time!
laws.
Disobedience is not tolerated. Disobedience to direct orders or requests of leaders/Upper Class wolves is strictly forbidden. You will do what you're told the first time it's said. Punishment can vary between exile, suspension, or chores depending on severity.
Cowardly acts are frowned upon. Fleeing from battle or duties is an act of shame. There is no true punishment, though expect your reputation to go down if caught.
Spying without permission or reason is loathsome. Never spy on your own town unless it's for the good of all. Punishment can vary between exile or suspension.
Treachery is a treason. Never betray your town for another or for another cause. If captured and arrested, you will face punishment. Punishment varies between exile, suspension, or execution.
Threats to Upper Class will threaten you. If you are caught threatening anyone from the Upper Class, you will face consequences. Punishment varies between suspension or chores.
Murder is hated. Murder to anyone, even lower class, will never be tolerated. If you are caught with blood on your claws, you will either be executed or exiled - no exceptions.
Rape is a sin. If you are ever proven to have raped another wolf, you will suffer. Punishment varies between exile or suspension.
Of course, there are more laws, but the rest is common sense.
