before the world became dull and the very beings of life were hidden, two gods came into existence. They were the essence of wolves, creators of a new form of life and guardians of balance. The goddess of form, Cordona, created the wolves themselves. The god of life, Zaelyss, gave souls to these wolves and guided their spirits. However, they became veiled in loneliness – they only had each other among the heavens. And so they merged their power to create four objects – Ordon, the stone of Will, Zaeslin, the book of Prophecies, Vaenon, the vial of Spirit, and Evenon, the orb of Balance. They scattered these objects all across the globe, hiding them from the other wolves, and came down to Earth as mortals to watch over their species. Together they kept the world in tranquility, watching the planet among their own creations.
Millennia before the age of the humans,
Soon, though, they realized that they could not live on Earth forever. Eventually the bodies that they had formed would die, and they would have to return to the heavens. Upon discovering this, they began instilling all their knowledge and power into the four objects. Soon blots formed in each of the items, and from them came four more creators – Ordon, creator of Will, Zaeslin, creator of Knowledge, Vaenon, creator of Existence, and Evenon, creator of Balance. Instilled within each god was half the power of Cordona and Zaelyss. Finally content, Cordona and Zaelyss shed their earthy pelts and became two massive orbs, forever circling around Earth. They eventually became to be known as Cordona the Sun and Zaelyss the Moon.
A century later, the four creators used the power of the objects to create more wolves. However, the four creators, greedy for power, hoarded the objects, therefore making the new wolves half-formed and powerless. The new wolves were pups instead of fully matured adults. Wolves continued to spring out like this. The four creators began to shed one-millionth of a piece of an object into each newly formed wolf so that they, too, could have offspring of their own and so that they would no longer have to create the wolves. The pieces of objects also gave some of the mortals powers or mutations.
However, many of the powerless wolves were unsatisfied with their lot. They asked the creators to give them some of the power they possessed. The creators said no and fled away into the dark mountains that surrounded the territory the original creators had given them. What became of those cowardly creators? No wolf knows...
